SAND BOTTLE PAINTING

CENTURY OF PROGRESS

Growing up in lowa near the banks of the Mississippi River and Wisconsin border, John A. Adams, an employee of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Rail, (C.M.St.P&P is spelled out on the top), learned about the sand bottle "paintings" of 19th century lowan, Andrew Clemons. Clemons' remarkable works, some of which have recently sold for close to $1 million, inspired Adams to create his own amazing bottle art. Notice the small, black, dot directly on Chicago on the map.
